Netflix feature film Black Crab (2022)

Khalil Al Harbiti as Associate Producer for Netflix Black Crab

“Black Crab is an existential thriller set in a civil war during a time that could very well be our own. From a military base near the coast, four soldiers are sent on a mission to carry some capsules further south to a research centre. They do not know what is in the capsules; they do not know each other; they hardly know what is happening in the war, yet they must carry out this mission during the dead of night on skates over the frozen sea.”

It’s a story based on Jerker Virdborg’s novel Black Crab. Award-winning Swedish director Adam Berg is making his feature film debut based on Swedish author Jerker Virdborg’s acclaimed novel Black Crab. Adam Berg has together with Pelle Rådström created an imaginative and compelling synopsis, with Berg as director and Khalil Al Harbiti as associate producer teamed up with INDIO.

The main actress will be played by award-winning Noomi Rapace, who returns to her native country Sweden, after starring in productions such as Prometheus and Assassin Club. The actress said: “I’m very excited to come back to Sweden and do Black Crab. My first Swedish film in … years. Can’t wait to get suited up and go on this journey — to explore human shadows and slide through broken dreams and a world on edge. Survival for what price?”

The feature will be released globally on Netflix in 2022.
